I myself can not understand why it is so little attention paid to the time management during the study. Many students are suffering that they do not have enough time to make this or that task, to write term paper, to take a walk with friends or to have a rest. However, still, only several students are acquainted with such notion as time management.

This article is aimed on presenting you some tips in order to spend your time wisely.

•    The earlier classes you have the better. It may sounds not very persuading, but it really works. If you get used to wake up early, it will teach you to keep order, so when you are applied for a job, it will be not very difficult to get up early in the morning.
•    Study between classes. All the students have breaks during the classes, as a rule, it is one or two hours. So, instead of walking from one place to another and trying to kill the time use it for your educational purposes. These two hours will give you an opportunity to study the material you need and to be free in the evening.
•    Try to study after the classes and not to watch the TV. It is also very convenient, as your brains are still keeping the information you have heard at the lesson, so you will not have to study the material from the very beginning, you will only have to refresh it.

When you are studying in the college that is the only time when you experience the life in dormitory, too many friends, different canteen food and various relationships.

You are out of your parents control; you think that you can do anything you want to or anything what was prohibited during the life at home with your parents. Many of the students start to use too much alcohol and drugs. They think that it is very pleasant and funny life and that after the college they will stop to lead such a way of life, but, unfortunately, being addicted, they either continue to lead that very way of life or finish their life with suicide or in the hospitals.

Of course, that is not a universal scenario, and not everyone chooses such a road, but the above-mentioned situations happen rather often.

Therefore, my advice to you is to be very careful with the choice of the company and activities you are going to be engaged with during your study. Remember that your life is given to you only once and you will not receive a chance to change something. So, be wise and take the best experience from your college life.

I think that when parents are pressing on the child to make the decision which college it is better to choose and which specialty it is better to enroll, they are just killing his or her personality. Of course, all the people are different, and what good for you is, may not be interesting to your child at all. At least, it is life of your child and not yours; you have already had an opportunity to make a choice, do not deprive your child of the chance to make a choice of his or her own.

Being parents, you have to help and support your child, but not to dictate what he or she has to do in order to pleaser your ambitions. It is not fare.

Provide your child with the necessary information, find a test at the career orientation, it will help him or her a lot to decide which occupation it is better to obtain.

I think that if you do not support your children’s choice, it means that you are not very good parents, and believe me, you will never have good relationship with your child, if you force him or her to enroll that very specialty, you want to. All your life your kid will be blaming you that you have spoiled his or her life and you will have nothing to answer as it is really going to be true.

Before becoming a student I have heard so many stories about the fights between the roommates that I was sure that my roommate is going to be psycho. However, to my surprise, when we got acuainmted I really liked her. Moreover, after the first term we became very close friends. Now it is the third year of my education and we are still living together.

In addition, if you also do not want to have any problems with your roommate I am here to help you. There are some advices for you:

  • You have to speak over the living contract and to sign it. Yes, it may seem a little bit stupid, but it does not deprive of the sense. Enumerate there all the demands and rules you want to be observed, something like borrowing things, sleeping with friends, the hours of quiet and so on, and so force.
  • After your contract is signed, try not to break the rules, but if it happened that you have broken them, do not hide your mistake, apologize. If you do it in the following way, you will not have any conflicts with your roomer.
  • If your roomer needs any help, do not wait until he or she asks for it, just help.

It is very difficult to decide what one has to take to the college. When it comes to the packing things, especially if you do not have the proper experience you are certain to forget something very necessary. So, use this article as a list of the necessary things and you will be perfectly ready to the college life:

With this list, you will never be running from one neighbor to another in order to find that very item which may become necessary for you, as this list contains everything you need to have.

Being a school leaver from a small country school, when I heard that I am going to become one of the 24,000 students at the college I was just horrified till death. I thought that I will never be able to find a common language with the city cool guys, and that cool city girls will never present me their attention. In order to make the accommodation period at the college a little bit shorter and not so painful, I decided to attend college orientation.

Thanks to the college orientation I managed to get to know how it is to live in the dormitory, how do the college food taste, with whom I am going to study and which classes I am going to attend. Only because I attended the college orientation, I had no problems with then accommodation period at the first year of the college. As I already was a little bit acquainted with the college, I have made a lot of friends there, as I constantly helped freshmen to find those rooms they needed.

If you also want not to suffer during the first term of your study and to devote yourself to the education, attend the oriental college, if you have such privilege in your future educational establishment. Believe me you will not be disappointed.

There are so many myth about the college exist, that it is almost impossible to enumerate them. In this article, I will try to list the most well spread ones.

  1. If you have bad SAT score you will fail to enter any college.
  2. There exists a perfect college.
  3. The major is not going to change during the study.
  4. The relationship you start at the college, does not matter friendly or romantic, will last forever.
  5. Only weak and silly people are missing their home, parents, relatives, and friends.
  6. You will never be able to have good relationship with the roomer.
  7. If you have not received a scholarship before a college enrolling, you will fail to do it during your college study.
  8. You do not have to study during the term; all you have to do is to learn all the material during the session.
  9. It is possible to pass the exam without the knowledge at the subject.
  10. You have to pay all your attention to the curriculum, and do not pay the proper attention to the extracurricular.
  11. If you have bad marks, you will never going to find a good work place

I was studying in a very small school, and I was dreaming about the big college very much. Different parties, new acquaintances, real life experience, and lots of friends.

The first disappointment I come across is the enormous amount of the cars trying to find a place for parking. The second one was the huge crowd of people trying to get into the elevator. All of them were screaming, pushing each other, and quarrelling. I was shocked.

Finally, I managed to reach my room, but it was not the end of my “pleasant first impression”. After that, I had to finish with some of my documents so I had to find the financial aid office. I thought that I would have no problems with it, as I had a map of the college, but I was wrong. I had been lost for several times, the territory of the college and its campus was so huge, that it was almost impossible to orient there.

The following day I spend at the bookstore. I had to buy some books, but I could not imagine that it would take me all day long. The first half of the day I was trying to find the necessary books in the huge store, the second half of the day, I was standing in a queue.

I was missing my small school too much.

Many people think that there is no great difference between the high school and college, but they are mistaking.

Actually, there is a great difference between the high school and the college. And now I am going to prove it.
•    Difference in study. As a rule you do not have an everyday control of your knowledge as it happens at school, your knowledge is only checked during the session. Therefore, you do not have to study each day in order to receive good marks. Everything is up to you. If you want to pass your examinations successfully, you will study all the material during the term. If you just want to receive satisfied mark, you will study during the session. No one is going to force you to study.
•    Difference in approaches to what is studied. If in school, you are taught what is going on, in the college you are taught why it is going on.
•    Difference in the relationship. While at school, you are in a friendly relationship with all the class, at the university you choose those people, with whom it is more convenient and interesting for you to have a friendship. However, do not put some romantic relationship before your study; it may cause you a lot of problems.

It is a rather disruptive question whether it is better to go home for the holiday or to remain in the campus. Of course, holiday is an opportunity for the students to have a good rest at home, to taste home food, to sleep in the favorite bad, to meet parents and friends. However, as a rule, when you have spent some time at the campus, far away from your parents, and you have stopped to be a child, it will be rather difficult for you to stay at home.

You have to be aware of the fact that everyone is going to treat you like a child when you open the door of your home. At this point you have not to pay any attention at the mother’s words: do not forget to clean your teeth, or your best friend’s replica: you have changed a great deal.

Some psychologists advice to write a pre letter to your parents in which you should mention that you have changed a lot, and that you are not a little kid anymore, but a grown up personality who is ready to take care about herself or himself without any help.

If you did not want to answer this or that question about your private life – refuse; but do it in a polite way. You can even joke a little in order not to offend the interviewer. For example, tell that you have so many options that you are still choosing. Everybody will laugh, and you will not be blamed that you do not want to share with your private life.

Do not be offended that your mother is treating you like a small helpless child; you will remain a child for her even when you are going to be 35 years old.
