1. College is time running. College classes, particularly the ones, which you will take first year, are not much harder than those that you studied in high school. The clue is in fact attending class and spending time outside of class studying and reading, as you will have more amusements than you ever had in high school. Thus, you should make out a plan to coincide with your class schedule. Also, you should set aside some time for reading out of class and do not let anything interrupt with this and you will be set.
2. You should not complain of required classes. You have been enrolled at a college, but not a trade school, thus you will be taking classes out of your major. The courses can be a drag, although you do not know when inspiration can hit. You can luck into a truly absorbing course or a good teacher or children who you would not be in a class with others. You should be open to various possibilities and do not observe the negatives.
3. Do not spend time hanging about persons with whom you attended high school. It is a natural tendency while move in a new situation to keep on people that you know. And it is okay for a little bit while, but you are attempting to meet new people plus get to know new things and you will never reach that hanging about only with persons that you already know.
